What can i say about this evenings band which has ventured up the m1 from South Yorkshire to once again grace the Cross Keys stage, though the numbers were sparse @ the beginning one or two movers & shakers trickled in during the course of the evening plus with the bands posse of followers turned it into one of those special Monkey Dust evenings. I wont deny it this is one of my more favorite bands around on the scene @ the moment & have got to know the guys & Julie plus there entourage rather well over the course of this last couple years & all ways make the night an event. With what as got to be two of the best original sets of covers not played in your usual standard way I.E. the crowd pleases are thrown into the first set which could be a sign of madness & hoping to keep the punters in to se how the second set pans out which on to-nights score one of the best around with a great mix of punk /indie/classic songs supported by good musicianship & great Harmonies through-out the band. It is beyond me how a band with this talent manage with-out monitors or ear piece's but they do & they seem to thrive on it to create the Monkey Dust sound which @ the begining in when you first hear it sounds a touch too high but then after second third number levels out & you can pick out each member individually @ ease . Closing the second set the band was joined on stage with Jay of Jd Band who helped them along with a number these have become great friends & support each other when-ever the chance arises.Once again the Keys was sprinkled with Monkey Dust & was treated to one of the best live bands around.
