Local band Melvin another of the area's up & coming young band stating a acknowledging that the west of Leeds is becoming a hot bed of young & promisingbands slowly emerging onto the local live scene, with an early evening start & a fairly decent start plus a few minor local band celebs in the audience who in conservation were mildly impressed by the boys & commented on there harmonies & all round tightness of the band in general Melvin played two accomplished sets with music with such different contrasts not being afraid to slot in a few oldie classics amongst which is to me a pleasure to see more modern contemporary & indie material from Offspring & had to courage to cover the Foo Fighters Everlong plus a great acoustic version which a lot of Young bands seem to be taking on board Poker Face (this went down a storm) finishing off with an encore with a total different contras Guns & Roses Sweet Child of Mine which i think is needed @ this moment in time to try & attract a more younger punter into the live scene & away from the plastic palm tree & boom boom bass syndrome of the binge pubs,Just one minor grips for me but I'm sure will be accounted for as the band progress & the P.A. System needs to be upgraded to a more high quality system but this Will come as the band progress more & develop as what i think to be a major player on the local scene.
