This Saturday evening saw Phoenix Rising unleash there full repertoire of classic rock numbers from there ever impressive & increasing set list covering numbers from years gone by to more present date songs that will stand the test of time. From the early days which saw the demise of Bad Penny the band as it says in the name risen & are carving a name for themselves wide & far on the local scene. Since the band reformed with original members Clive vocals Steve pots n pans & Steve Fingers on bass managed to acquire themselves a lead guitarist Martin who has helped to transform this band into the name they have become, not only do Phoenix Rising contrive to be a classic rock band with near perfection in mind but also believe how good a top class sound & light show can go a long way to make the punters evening special. Three numbers which spring to mind through out the set which shows also shows different aspects of the band was the all time 60's Animals classic House of the Rising Sun then towards the end to the pleasure of certain members of the audience Wild Cherry's Play that Funky Music White Boy then to a mesmerising all time favourite in these parts Martin's rendition of the Floyd's Comfortably Numb which had Howard's the Land lord in his own words that had the hairs stood up on the back of his neck. Fantastic evening of classic rock @ its best, with it lots of new faces in the audience & also a steady flow of punters walking through the door as the night progressed.
